A Commercial Magic Show Poster (made to be sold to the public; measures 13 3/4" x 17 1/4" [35 x 44 cm]) (Learn More)

Harry Blackstone Sr. (often billed as "The Great Blackstone") was a stage musician and illusionist from the 1920s to the 1960s. Blackstone utilized large illusions as well as uniformed assistants, both male and female. His signature illusion was "The Floating Light Bulb", where Blackstone would take a lighted bulb from a lamp and float it, still glowing, through a small hoop. He would then come down from the stage and the lamp would float out over the heads of the audience! Blackstone passed away in 1965 at the age of 80.

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster, which a knowledgeable collector tells us is a commercial reproduction poster which was sold by Lee Jacobs Productions in the 1970s. Also note that this poster is printed on a heavyweight paper stock that cannot be rolled.

UPDATED 11/22/2021: Note that, as mentioned in the Important Added Info section, this is a commercial reproduction poster which was sold by Lee Jacobs Productions in the 1970s. We have updated the auction accordingly. Because of this large change, we have reset the bidding on this poster.

Condition: good. The poster had paper loss around the edges, with a few pieces of tape and tape stains around the edges, and someone glued it to a heavy board, but did no restoration (see our image).
