An Original Vintage Unfolded East German Zoo Poster (measures 22 1/4" x 31 1/2" [57 x 80 cm]) (Learn More)

Tierpark Berlin (literally translates to "Animal Park Berlin") is one of two zoos located in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 1955 in what was East Berlin, as a counterpart of the famous Berlin Zoological Garden in West Berlin. Tierpark Berlin is located in Friedrichsfelde on the former grounds of Friedrichsfelde Palace, which is situated within the zoo. It is the largest zoo in Europe, and features over 8000 animals (from 650 species) on 160 hectares.
Artist: Horst Naumann
Important Added Info: Note that when you look at this poster in person, it is hard to believe it is not from the 1930s! That is because it was created in 1963 with an intentional "retro" design, inspired by the great 1930s German circus posters. The artwork was re-used in 1976 and 1984, and the only way to spot this is the tiny printer information in the lower-left corner. This poster is from 1984.

Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has tears and tiny paper loss in the left and right borders, and a 3" tear in the center of the bottom border. The poster is fragile, but after a basically simple linenbacking, it will look fantastic! However, please bear in mind its condition defects before bidding on it.
