The Lone Wolf's Daughter, the 1919 William P.S. Earle silent London England master thief romantic family relationship crime melodrama sequel ("The sequel to 'The Lone Wolf' and 'False Faces'"; "By Louis Joseph Vance"; a really wonderful story of a Princess who discovers that her husband was cheating on her, and had hidden letters inside a picture; the master thief known as "The Lone Wolf" is able to obtain the letters, and the Princess uses them to divorce her husband and marry The Lone Wolf, but sadly, she dies after giving birth to their daughter; many years later, the daughter is now grown, and she does not know that The Lone Wolf was her father, and her mother's husband finds her and convinces her that he is her father, and he brings her to his house, so that The Lone Wolf will come for her and he can get his revenge; he also has a wild plan to fill Buckingham Palace with poison gas and then he will become the dictator of England; but unknown to him, The Lone Wolf has been posing as his Oriental butler, and he is able to foil the plot and capture all the crooks, and be reunited with his daughter!) starring Louise Glaum (in a dual role as mother and the title role as the daughter!), Bertram Grassby (as The Lone Wolf), Edwin Stevens, Thomas Holding, Fred L. Wilson, and Wallace Beery (in a very early uncredited role as the leader of a gang of criminals). Note that The Lone Wolf was a character in a series of eight novels that author Louis Joseph Vance wrote starting in 1914, and the first movie starring the character was in 1917, with Bert Lytell in the lead role. There were three movies after that with three different actors in the lead role. Then Lytell returned to the character, and there were many movies in a short period, and then Lytell starred in some sound movies as the character. In the 1940s, Warren William starred in a series of Lone Wolf movies, and then the character was played by Gerald Mohr. There were a few single entries mixed in where other actors played the lead role. In all, there were 24 Lone Wolf movies! The character was a master thief turned detective, and there were several other characters who were very similar, but few had the enduring popularity of The Lone Wolf!
