An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Chris Evert is a retired American World No. 1 tennis player. She won 18 Grand Slam singles championships and three doubles titles. She was the year-ending World No. 1 singles player in 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, and 1981. Overall, Evert won 157 singles championships and 32 doubles titles. Evert served as president of the Women's Tennis Association from 1975-76 and 1983-91. She was awarded the Philippe Chatrier award and inducted into the Hall of Fame. As lucky as she was in tennis, she was unlucky in love. She first was engaged to Jimmy Connors when she was 19, but they were never married. In 1979, she married John Lloyd and became Chris Evert Lloyd. They divorced in 1987, and the following year, she married skier Andy Mill. She left mill to marry Australian golfer Greg Norman, and that marriage only lasted a little over a year. In later life, Evert was a coach and is now an analyst for ESPN and has a line of tennis and active apparel. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Chris Evert! Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
