Date Sold 9/9/2018 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 300 TV 8x10 contact sheets from Gunsmoke. This is an amazing find! They are contact sheets from many different episodes of the Gunsmoke TV show from the 1961-1962 season (usually around 5 or 6 sheets from each episode). Some have paper snipes in blank areas describing which episode they are from and who the stars were. These were found together with a similar amazing find of contact sheets from The Ed Sullivan TV show, which we are auctioning in a separate auction. These are ALL the contact sheets that were found (both from this show and from any other show). After these two auctions are completed, there will be no more of these contact sheets. Traditionally, film photographers will print these sheets to quickly show clients a large number of images so they can choose the ones they like. In this case, the still photographer on the set shot various images of the cast and crew for use in promoting the movie. Of course, Gunsmoke is the 1955 - 1975 long-running cowboy western television (TV) series starring James Arness (as Marshal Matt Dillon), Milburn Stone (as Doc), Amanda Blake (as Kitty), Ken Curtis (as Festus), Dennis Weaver (as Chester), and Buck Taylor (as Newly). Note that Dennis Weaver left the show in 1964, which was a sad day for the show! Condition: very good. The contact sheets have some minor border wear but are otherwise in nice condition!
