Two Camera Original Vintage Color 4x5 Transparencies (each measures 4" x 5" [10 x 13 cm]) (Learn More) Roy Rogers (often referred to as the "King of the Cowboys") is considered one of the all-time top cowboy western actors (he started in the 1930s and worked in film until the 1950s) and was nearly always accompanied by his equally famous horse, Trigger. He had many female co-stars until he starred with Dale Evans, and they married, and remained married for over 50 years! After his movie career wound down, he and Evans had an extremely successful TV show. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 86. Important Added Info: Two Camera original color 4x5 transparencies of this legendary western star during scenes from the production. Exhibits color shift. Properly calibrated scans are included to show how gorgeous these can look despite the color shift to red. 2 of 4 being listed. Note that these are transparency films that were in the camera when the photographer shot the photos (see below for more on this). What is a transparency? They are produced by the studio and are very high quality and were created in quantity and sent to media outlets or other places that had need of the very highest quality image for reproduction purposes (in newspapers, magazines, or elsewhere). A clear border around a 4x5 transparency denotes duplication from a negative source, a black border denotes duplication from a positive source. These transparencies are each in a plastic sleeve (but we removed them and scanned them , so that bidders could see just how high quality they are). They will be sent to the winner of the auction in the plastic sleeves. The coloring of each transparency has changed over the years, and our consignor prepared a "color corrected" version (through PhotoShop), and we have an image of the transparencies as they appear alongside the color corrected versions, but of course, the auction is for a group of 2 transparencies. Condition: good to very good. Has studio reference number written in white at top. The color of the transparencies has changed from how they originally were, but otherwise, they are in nice condition. We have supplied a second image that is "color corrected" to look as they originally were (see above). Learn More about condition grades
