An Original Vintage Photolobby (11x14; LCs; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) the circa 1940s double-bill release ("2 All-Time Great Thrills Films! In one super spectacle!"; "The Afro-Goona Show"; "Wild - Weird - Wondrous") of Kriss (also released as "Goona Goona"), the 1932 Armand Denis and Andre Roosevelt French/U.S. Polynesian documentary. Note that Armand Denis had explored Africa and India in the 1930s with his wife Leila Roosevelt, and had produced and directed many short subjects with footage of their travels that he and his wife had shot themselves. In 1948, the 52 year-old Armand Denis divorced Roosevelt, and married 34 year-old Michaela Holdsworth, and together they made four movies (very similar to those he had made with his first wife) AND Africa Speaks, the 1930 Walter Futter jungle safari wild animal documentary ("The strangest romance ever filmed!"; "Thrilling adventure in the unexplored regions of Equatorial Africa"; "Produced by the Colorado African Expedition, Inc.") starring Paul Hoefler (who was the man who went to Africa, and who wrote a book of the same name about his experiences) and narrated by Lowell Thomas. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that on this movie, and on several other releases of the 1930s and 1940s, lesser studios sometimes issued a set of very different looking lobby cards! This was part of a "photolobby" set with a glossy color scene from the movie, and was printed on the type of paper used for 11x14 stills, not the type used for lobby cards. It is possible that some of these movies also had a regular lobby card set, but I believe in most cases there was only a photolobby set. Condition: good to very good. There are some pinholes, creases, and tiny tears scattered around the edges, with some faint thumbnail creases scattered in the rest of the card (but they are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light). Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
