He served as head of government of the Russian Republic from 1917 to 1918, of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic from 1918 to 1924 and of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1924. Under his administration, Russia and then the wider Soviet Union became a one-party communist state governed by the Russian Communist Party. Ideologically a Marxist, he also developed political theories known as Leninism. He passed away in 1924 at the age of 53. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that these posters were part of a biographical educational exhibition which featured artwork from important milestones in the life of Lenin. The posters were meant to be displayed in a specific layout and originally came with a diagram showing the location of each poster (which IS included with this auction) as well as some information and the individual artist's name. Note: We have 24 images of the Russian posters in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 24 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 14. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Most of these items absolutely can only be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. Some of them might SEEM like they could be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet, but they can't. The reason these items are in this auction is specifically because they CAN'T be rolled (because rolling any of them would damage them, even if they somehow can be rolled). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item when ready for shipping), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. IN THE CASE OF EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, THE SHIPPING COST WILL BE VERY HIGH, SO PLEASE DO NOT BID WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT THAT ADDED SHIPPING AMOUNT, AND INCLUDE THAT AMOUNT IN WHAT YOU BID (so if you would pay $150, but the shipping is likely $100, then only bid $50). And those who live outside the U.S. and who do not have a U.S. address to ship to SHOULD NOT BID AT ALL ON EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, BECAUSE THEY COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO SEND OUTSIDE THE U.S. Condition: good to very good. One has much tape around the edges that ripples the poster. A few have tears of varying lengths around the edges or some just have a few creases and tiny tears along portions of some edges (one has a very large tear at upper center) and all of those defects are visible in our super-sized images. Several are in pretty nice condition. The diagram is printed on a much lighter paper and it has some slight discoloration scattered in various areas. The edges are backed with white tape.
