An Original Vintage Movie Theater Program (measures 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" [18 x 24 cm]; 20 pages) (Learn More) The Paramount Theatre was a noted 3,664 seat movie palace located at 43rd Street and Broadway in the Times Square district of New York City from 1926 to 1966. It opened with the gala showing of God Gave Me 20 Cents with Mayor Walker and Thomas Edison as guests. The theater housed one of the largest and most admired theater organs ever built by the Wurlitzer company. Designed for the famous organist Jesse Crawford, the organ was used for solos and to accompany silent films. Later, the Paramount began hosting live music along with feature films, and hosted performers such as: Benny Goodman, Jack Benny, Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and many more! The theater was closed in 1964 and its space converted to office and retail use. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of four of the pages of this 20-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and two of the interior pages together). You can see the four of the 20 pages, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are 16 pages you are not seeing. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
