An Original Vintage Unfolded World War II Poster (measures 22 1/4" x 49" [57 x 124 cm]) (Learn More)

Your Attendance Will Win the War, the 1943 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front Sheldon-Claire poster ("'Let's throw the lie back at Hitler - show him how cockeyed he was when he said we were too soft, too lazy, too stupid... to work for our way of life. Make every minute count!'"; "Your job is vital to victory!") encouraging worker productivity, and featuring an image of a man hard at work. The Sheldon-Claire Co. was founded by Lew Shalett during the 1930s to provide employee motivational materials to industry. The posters and other materials were used by a wide range of companies, associations, government agencies, municipalities and other organizations. In 1981, Mr. Shallet sold his employee motivation program to Pratt & Whitney (however, that firm found that there was no market for it anymore and it was discontinued).

Important Added Info:

Note that this poster must be sent in a tube that is over 32" long (which is why it is in this set of auctions). You can tell how long the tube will need to be by adding 2 inches to the shorter dimension of the length or width (so 40x60s need to be sent in a 42 inch long tube, etc). Most of these posters (with the notable exception of paper banners) CAN be combined in the same tube together, with a few exceptions. Bear in mind that a very long tube (42 inches or longer) will cost a lot more to send than a 30" tube, so bear that in mind before bidding on this poster.

Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has some creases and tiny tears along portions of some edges as well as some slight discoloration in just a few small edge areas. It is otherwise in generally nice condition.
