An Original 1947 Vintage Theatrical 7 3/4" x 9 1/2" [20 x 24 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) A Matter of Life and Death (released in the U.S. in 1947 as "Stairway to Heaven"), the classic 1946 Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger English afterlife fantasy romantic melodrama ("In New Chromatic Technicolor!"; a fascinating movie; the early scenes are in color and then, artfully, the scenes in heaven are in black and white, kind of reverse from the usage of color in The Wizard of Oz) starring David Niven, Raymond Massey, Roger Livesey, Kim Hunter, Marius Goring, and Robert Coote. Note that American Kim Hunter played a lead role in this film, and she was the first American actress to appear in an English movie after World War II ended. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that, as is often the case with larger theaters, they seem to rarely use studio-issued posters to advertise major movies, but instead made their own elaborate displays. In this case, this Boston, Massachusetts theater used giant blow-up photos in frames on their windows and also had what appears to be hand carved three-dimensional displays on their front! Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 7 3/4" x 9 1/2" [20 x 24 cm]. Condition: good. All the borders were trimmed and there are some creases around the edges. There is glue staining, tape stains, and surface paper loss on the back of the still. See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of this still. Learn More about condition grades
