Muchachas De Bagdad (literally translates to "Bagdad Girls"), the 1952 Jeronimo Mihura & Edgar G. Ulmer Spanish Iraq romantic melodrama starring Paulette Goddard, John Boles, Jose Calvo, Maruja Coral, Maria Del Amor, and Rafael Duran. Note that there is a really interesting oddity about this movie. The producers of this movie intended for it to use Cinefotocolor, a new, Spanish color process utilizing a chemical dye process and a special camera. Perhaps because of the added expense of this new process, they came up with the idea of simultaneously filming a this Spanish-language version called "Muchachas de Bagdad", and also an English-language version, "Babes in Bagdad", with the same lead actors, but with different supporting cast (this had been done by many studios in 1930-1932, but it was abandoned after that). This alternate version was filmed and released in Spanish-speaking countries, but movie paper of any kind of it is incredibly rare. The director of the English-language version was Edgar Ulmer, but he was co-director on the Spanish-language version with Jernimo Mihura, and there were other people who solely worked on the Spanish-language version. There are apparently some differences between the two versions.

Important Added Info: Note that, as noted above, this is from the Spanish-language version of Babes in Bagdad. It is the ONLY movie paper item from this movie that we have ever auctioned! Note also that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front.

Condition: very good.
