What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was mounted onto a thin linen with no excess (this was almost surely done soon after it was created). The poster was folded once in each direction and there are some smudges and scuffs along those folds. There are creases and tiny tears down the left blank border, with a few extending into the background below the red cross. There is a long diagonal crease in the lower right and three pieces of brown tape in the top border. The poster could be displayed and enjoyed just as it is, or certainly, it could be removed from the old linen and professionally backed.
