An Undated (likely 1960s) Reproduction 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) My Lady's Lips, the 1925 James P. Hogan silent romantic melodrama starring Clara Bow, Frank Keenan, Alyce Mills, William Powell, Ford Sterling, John Sainpolis, Gertrude Short, and Mathew Betz. Note that Clara Bow was the most famous "flapper girl" of the mid to late 1920s (she became known as "The It Girl" after the character she played based on the popular novel by Elinor Glyn). She had a major role in Wings, and was Paramount's biggest star at that time. But she had a notorious private life and seemingly "settled down" when she married cowboy star Rex Bell in 1931 (she had two children and she retired from movies), but sadly in 1949 she went into a mental institution after a failed suicide attempt (she had had psychiatric issues for quite some time) and she was released but never returned to her family, and lived alone until her death in 1965. Important Added Info: Note that this still came from the collection of Doug Whitney, who was a major collector of stills of stars of the 1920s to 1940s. Mr. Whitney located this reproduction still, and he could find no original stills from the movie, even though he searched the world over for one! He put it in a glassine bag, and handwrote on it "Very rare - no stills from this film in NYC Hollywood London Paris, This seems to be the only still in existence from this picture." The winner of this auction will get both the reproduction still and the glassine bag with Mr. Whitney's comments handwritten on it. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
