An Unfolded Travel Poster (measures 25" x 40" [64 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) TWA: The Orient, the circa 1960s airplane airline aviation travel poster encouraging people to fly TWA (Trans World Airlines) to Asian countries. The poster shows a great artwork image of a statue posing before a window with fabric draped in front of a view of a village with mountains in the background by David Klein. If anyone knows more about this poster (including the exact year), please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: David Klein Important Added Info: Note that the "Up Up and Away TWA" tagline was first used in 1967 and lasted about a year. "Up, Up and Away" was pop song most famously sung by the Fifth Dimension, and an advertising agency came up with the idea of using it to promote TWA. It was a hit but there was a lawsuit over the use of the song, and when that was settled, TWA had switched advertising agencies. We have NEVER auctioned this particular version of this poster before! Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has slight discoloration at upper right and some tiny brown dot stains at lower right with some lesser ones scattered along the lower edge. This is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration. It is likely that much or most of the slight discoloration can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration the poster will display well (or it could be displayed as is).
