An Original 1953 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 46 1/4" x 62" [117 x 157 cm]) (Learn More) Jungle Jim In the Forbidden Land, the 1951 Lew Landers fantasy jungle action adventure thriller ("Based upon the famous Jungle Jim King Features Syndicate newspaper feature"; "Million-year-old monsters run amok in Jungle Jim's giant roundup!"; "Kidnapped by missing-link giants out of the cave-man age!"; "Kidnapped by million-year-old giants!") starring Johnny Weissmuller (in the title role as Jungle Jim; the 1924 Olympic swimming champion who is best remembered for playing Tarzan and for his role in this series of movies), Angela Greene, Jean Willes, Lester Matthews, and Tamba ("The Talented Chimp"). In this movie, Jungle Jim encounters "giant people" in a "forbidden land". Actually, the "giant people" were just "very tall people", and greatly resemble the "manimals" from "Island of Lost Souls". Learn More Note that this poster ships in a very long tube (at least 33" long, but possibly 50" long or more). Therefore the shipping for this poster will be more than that for a poster that ships in a tube 32" or shorter, and possibly much more. Please bear this added shipping expense in mind before bidding on this poster. You can tell how long of a tube this poster needs to ship in by looking at the shorter dimension of its length and width and then adding 4" to that (so a 47" x 63" poster will need to ship in a 51" long tube). Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and a few tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds. It had tiny pairs of staple holes around the edges and some tiny pairs of staple holes scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
