John Ford was a legendary filmmaker from the 1910s to the 1970s. He directed more than 140 films and won four Academy Awards for Best Director for The Quiet Man, The Grapes of Wrath, The Informer, and How Green Was My Valley (which is a record that still stands). Some of his other films include: Stagecoach, The Searchers, and How Green Was My Valley. He passed away in 1973 at the age of 79.
Important Added Info: Note that this agreement has been personally autographed (signed) by John Ford! Our consignor is a very longtime collector of movie paper who purchased these items years ago, and it was signed, but he doesn't know how the signature was obtained, and he (and we) believe it is likely that the autograph is authentic. It is a revision of the agreement he had with RKO to start working for them on April 1, 1934, and this was delaying that until July 15, 1934 (and the movie that he would make with them was one of his very greatest, The Informer). Also included with this agreement is a candid key book still from The Fugitive, the 1947 John Ford RKO movie. That candid key book still shows John Ford by the motion picture camera. The two items could be framed together, or of course, they could be displayed separately.

Condition: very good. The agreement has some small tears around the edges. The key book still had its top 1" trimmed.
