Heinz v. Twardowski"), Allan Durant, and Rudolf Biebrach. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Josef Bottlik Important Added Info: Note that this is a very rare "country of origin" poster from Germany from before World War II, which we have never auctioned before (we are also auctioning a different style German poster in a separate auction). There are very few German movie posters from before World War II in existence (because of the massive paper shortages in Germany during World War II), and most of those few are in museums. We are currently also auctioning a second German poster from this same movie with a completely different image, in two separate auctions, but both are from the first release in Germany. Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of the folds, with paper loss at the crossfolds. It had a few creases scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to paperbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
