Date Sold 5/25/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An INCOMPLETE Original Vintage Theatrical Folded English Three-Sheet (called a 6sh in England) Movie Poster (3sh; measures 39 3/4" x 60" [101 x 152 cm]) (Learn More) Sabotage (released in the U.S. in 1937 both under its original title and as "The Woman Alone"), the 1936 Alfred Hitchcock English detective mystery crime suspense thriller ("From the novel by Joseph Conrad"; about a group of saboteurs who are causing damage in London, and one of their gang runs a movie theater as a cover, and his wife and her brother help him run it, but they know nothing about the sabotage, and Scotland Yard sends a man to work next door to the theater to catch the gang) starring Sylvia Sidney (billed as "*courtesy of Walter Wanger Productions Inc."), Oscar Homolka, John Loder, Desmond Tester, Joyce Barbour, and William Dewhurst NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Marc Stone Important Added Info: Note that only the top two-thirds of this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this English movie, is present. It was printed in 2 pieces. One piece had the top 2/3 of the poster and the other piece had the bottom 1/3, AND THAT BOTTOM PIECE IS MISSING. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept that only part of the poster is present. Note that the portion of the poster that is present contains all of the title and the majority of the image (it appears that all the small credits from the bottom are missing and probably more of the lower image). Note that we previously auctioned another example of the top two-thirds of this English three-sheet, and that one was in far lesser condition than this one, with significant added paper loss in the lower left corner of the part that was present. However, this one does have a lot of condition issues itself (see below). The earlier one, which was in poor condition, sold for $332! Condition: fair. The poster has many pinholes and faint stains scattered throughout, with many pieces of tape on the back. It has also darkened. Certainly, a restorer could greatly improve its appearance through chemical means, but one still would have to consider whether to recreate the bottom third (if one could locate an image of a complete poster), or simply finish it off as is. Please bear all of this in mind before bidding on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
