An Original Vintage Television Campaign Book (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]; 78 pages) (Learn More) American Broadcasting-Paramount Theatres 1962, the 1962 ("and beyond") theater campaign book announcing upcoming films (such as Cleopatra, The Longest Day, Birdman of Alcatraz, Gypsy and more) from the major studios (such as Warner Bros, Paramount, Universal, 20th Century Fox, United Artists and Walt Disney). American Broadcasting-Paramount Theatres was the post-merger parent company of the American Broadcasting Company and United Paramount Theatres. Apparently, this book came about because TV stations were upset with studios because they did not coordinate with each other, and release their major pictures to TV on a "orderly" basis, so that sometimes they would have many big movies to show and other times nothing! So this book was brought about by coordinating the major and minor studios and getting them to stagger their releases in conjunction with each other, so that there would be "orderly distribution" of their movies. The first page of the book has a letter to TV stations explaining all of the above. The rest of the book has tabbed sections for each studio, with multiple pages of ads for each studio. The tabbed pages are fold-outs, that have 2-page ads for top movies! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. We have never auctioned this unusual spiral-bound book before! Condition: very good. The book has some minor wear around the edges.
