It was hosted by Donald O'Connor (in Hollywood) and Fredric March (in New York). Note that this was the year From Here to Eternity won 8 Oscars, including the award for Best Picture! Important Added Info: Note that our consignor purchased this from a woman who attended that Academy Awards ceremony, and she had the nerve to walk around the room and ask the famous celebrities to sign the program, and she was able to obtain TEN signatures, including Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Donald O'Connor, Ann Blyth, Donna Reed, William Holden, Lana Turner, Lex Barker, Michael Wilding, and Susan Hayward! Note that Elizabeth Taylor was married to Michael Wilding at this time, so she signed her name "Elizabeth Taylor Wilding"! Our consignor took this program to the Antiques Roadshow, and also the Heritage Auction Galleries, and both places authenticated this item and its signatures, and both wanted the consignor to auction it, but they were not ready to do so at that time. Also note that we have pictured the front cover and seven interior 2-page spreads from this program. Finally, note that at this time, coast to coast travel was much more difficult, and there were two different Academy Award dinners held at the same time, one in New York and one in Hollywood, and they used the same program for both events.
