Captain Marvel is a fictional Marvel comic book superhero created by Stan Lee and Gene Colan in 1967 (not to be confused with the 1940s Captain Marvel created by C.C. Beck). A second Captain Marvel was created by writer Roger Stern and artist John Romita, Jr., and she first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #16 in 1982. That version of Captain Marvel was the basis of the 2019 live-action film starring Brie Larson as Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers.
