W. Emo German romantic comedy (about two law students who fall in love and marry and later start a law practice, the husband represents an actress and the wife overhears the actress talking passionately to her husband and she becomes angry and files for divorce only to find out later the actress was only practicing her lines!) starring Magda Schneider, Wolf Albach-Retty, Jane Tilden, Hans Olden, Oskar Sima, Hans Unterkirchner, and Charlott Daudert If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare "country of origin" poster for this German movie! We have never auctioned one with this design in all our years of auctioning. It was printed in Germany during World War II. There are very few German movie posters from during World War II in existence (because of the massive paper shortages in Germany during World War II), and most of those few are in museums. It is likely that German posters from during the Nazi era are even more rare than those from before that era, because most of those that survived the war would have been destroyed right after the war! Also note that this German A0 poster measures 33 1/4" x 46 3/4" [84 x 119 cm]. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had separation and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds with some smudges and darkening on parts of the folds with smudges in the background areas. It had some pinholes and tiny paper loss in the borders. Someone many years ago had the poster backed using a process similar to gelbacking, but they solely reinforced the borders and folds, but did no restoration to the poster itself (surely this was done by a museum). This wonderful poster could be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or one might choose to have a more modern restoration performed and in either case we hope this poster will end up on display, because it deserves to be seen by a wide audience!
