An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans, the classic 1927 F.W. Murnau silent romantic love triangle crime melodrama ("The outstanding achievement of the motion picture art"; "Scenario by Carl Mayer"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring George O'Brien, Janet Gaynor (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Margaret Livingston, Bodil Rosing, and J. Farrell MacDonald. Note that at the very first Oscar ceremony, this movie was awarded the Oscar for "Best Picture, Unique and Artistic Production". Also, Janet Gaynor won that first Best Actress Academy Award (it was for this movie and two others she made that year). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that on this still there is a printed paper snipe attached to the back describing the scene on the front (it tells how F.W. Murnau mounted the studio and crew on a truck so he could get the right angle on Margaret Livingston for a scene he was shooting). Note the crew gathered around in the background, and the man playing the accordion at bottom left. Apparently, Murnau was waiting for the sun to be exactly right before he started filming.
