An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Lady in the Lake, the 1947 Robert Montgomery detective mystery crime film noir ("MGM presents a Revolutionary motion picture The most amazing since Talkies began!"; "You and Robert Montgomery solve a murder mystery together!"; "MGM presents You and Robert Montgomery in Lady in the Lake"; "Based on the novel by Raymond Chandler"; this was a "gimmick" movie; the lead actor is not shown, and the entire movie is seen from his point of view!; the only time you see him is in mirrors; this was a pretty lame idea, and it is not surprising it was only done once!; oddly, MGM shows Montgomery in the lobby cards; perhaps they were already afraid of the wacky premise prior to its release!) starring Robert Montgomery (as Phillip Marlowe), Audrey Totter, Lloyd Nolan, Tom Tully, Leon Ames, and Jayne Meadows NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still has a stamp on the back in the form of a diamond that has the letters "TRR". One certainly might wonder who placed this stamp there and why. The answer is that the still (and many others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from a still collector who has collected for many decades, and long ago he began stamping the back of his stills with this stamp, and "TRR" is his initials! Each of the stills is stamped lightly, and the stamp does NOT affect the front of the still. He is a VERY advanced collector, and he has consigned many wonderful stills to us!
