A 1948 Realart Re-Release Theatrical One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Mummy's Tomb, the 1942 Harold Young Universal Egyptian curse revenge monster horror thriller ("The Fear of the Year!"; "Original Story, Neil P. Varnick") starring Lon Chaney Jr. (in the title role and his first appearance as the Mummy!), Dick Foran, John Hubbard, Elyse Knox, George Zucco, Wallace Ford, and Turhan Bey ("The Man of Mystery") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have been told that Realart re-released this movie in 1952. However, the IMDb says that it was in 1948, and we have seen Realart items that have "744-48" written on the back, and there is a litho number on the Realart one-sheet that corresponds to 1948, so we believe it was surely released by Realart in 1948 (which does not mean that it could not have also been re-released by them in 1952). Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Most of these items absolutely can only be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. Some of them might SEEM like they could be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet, but they can't. The reason these items are in this auction is specifically because they CAN'T be rolled (because rolling any of them would damage them, even if they somehow can be rolled). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item when ready for shipping), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. Condition: fair. Many years ago, the poster was glued to a piece of foamcore. Prior to being glued, it had paper loss in the top of the vertical fold, with a piece of tape over part of it, and some tape stains, tears, and small paper loss in the borders. Either before or after it was glued to the board, the poster acquired some long drip water stains down the right center of the image, running from the top border to the bottom, and also some stains in Turhan Bey's face at lower right, which had not been glued properly, and which is rippled. Obviously, this great and rare poster can be restored, but bear in mind its considerable defects and the cost of restoration before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
