Blood and Sand, the aborted 1932 Richard Wallace bullfighting matador romantic melodrama starring Cary Grant (billed as "the sensational new leading man"), and Tallulah Bankhead. This film was going to be a remake of the classic 1922 silent film of the same name (which starred Rudolph Valentino and which was based on the novel by Ibanez), but 1932 was the height of The Great Depression, and Paramount was on the verge of going broke, and they fired many of their top stars (including Tallulah Bankhead, who had been intended to star in this movie), and they canceled this movie (but they wisely kept rising star Cary Grant under contract, even though they were having trouble making their rent payments)! There is no telling how this movie would have turned out, but it seems quite sad that it never was made! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
