An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Jesse James At Bay, the 1941 Joseph Kane outlaw cowboy western ("Original story by Harrison Jacobs") starring Roy Rogers (in the title role as Jesse James!), George 'Gabby' Hayes, Sally Payne, Gale Storm, Pierre Watkin, and Hal Taliaferro. Note that the horse Roy Rogers rode in the movie was his regular companion, Trigger, but because this was not a "Roy Rogers" movie, he could not be billed! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This three-sheet was printed in 2 sections. Condition: good. The poster had considerable tears and areas of paper loss in several foldlines, including the horizontal foldline that ran across Roy Rogers' eyes, in the horizontal foldline that ran across the middle of his chest, and in the lower 2/3 of the right vertical foldline and in the bottom 2/3 of the middle vertical foldline. The person who restored the poster did a great deal of touch up in those areas, and from a few feet away, the restoration is reasonably good. When you get close up, however, you can clearly see just how much restoration this poster has had. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept that it is both heavily restored, and that the restoration is noticeable! I would imagine that there may well not be another example of this poster, so this may be the only opportunity to purchase this! This poster was linenbacked, and it had significant defects which were only somewhat repaired during the linenbacking process, or were not repaired at all (we describe both the defects as well as the quality of the restoration below, and based on those comments, you can easily determine which type of poster it is). You should also look at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).
