An Original Vintage English Movie Trade Ad (measures 8 1/2" x 12" [22 x 30 cm]; 1 page) (Learn More)

Juno and the Paycock, the 1930 Alfred Hitchcock English Irish Civil War family relationship inheritance melodrama ("A tragi-comedy of Irish life which reaches the highest pinnacle of dramatic intensity"; based on the play by Sean O'Casey, as adapted by O'Casey, Hitchcock, and Alma Reville, Hitchcock's wife) starring Barry Fitzgerald, Maire O'Neill, Edward Chapman, Sidney Morgan, Sara Allgood (in the title role as Juno), and John Laurie. Note that this was the first Hitchcock movie that used his long-take technique! It was also Barry Fitzgerald's first movie, and Hitchcock and O'Casey, the legendary Irish playwright, became lifelong friends after making this movie.

Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this early Alfred Hitchcock movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this trade ad, which is a "country of origin" item for this English movie!

Note that this 9x12 English trade ad was removed from the December 12, 1929 issue of Kinematograph Weekly.

Condition: fair to good. The ad was removed from a magazine. There is staining and paper loss in the upper and lower right blank borders, where the staples were. There are faint smudges and scuffs scattered throughout, and there are some tiny stains in one of the hats at middle right. There are some creases and tiny tears around the edges, with small paper loss in the top left corner.
