An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Zero Hour, the 1923 Henry McCarty silent family relationship romantic melodrama ("5 reels"; "Produced under the personal supervision of Charles W. Mack") starring Lester Cuneo, and Francelia Billington. Note that Lester Cuneo had been a major comedy star at the Selig Studio in 1912, but after just a few movies, he chose to re-invent himself as a cowboy star, and had success there as well, also playing dramatic roles at the same time. He served in World War I (WWI), and returned to Hollywood and again began making westerns, playing a character billed as "The Smiling Daredevil". But by the early 1920s, his westerns were less and less successful, and after a series of personal and professional failures, Cuneo could not get any parts at all, and he committed suicide in 1925. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: poor. The front blank pane is missing, as is all the tape. There is slight staining around the blank edges and some deterioration in the left and right of the slide. Learn More about condition grades
