Some of her movies include: The Constant Nymph, The Lady of the Lake (in the title role), The Worst Woman in Paris?, and Tarzan Escapes. She passed away in 1967 at the age of 61 AND Jessie Matthews was an English musical actress from the 1920s to the 1980s. Some of her movies include: The Hound of the Baskervilles, Forever and a Day, Waltzes from Vienna, and Evergreen. She was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 1970s, so she could have afterwards referred to herself as "Dame Jessie Matthews", but apparently she didn't do that. She passed away in 1981 at the age of 74. Important Added Info: This album page has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH Benita Hume AND Jessie Matthews (each person signed one side of the page)! It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display (of course, the new owner would have to choose which side to display!). Note that this is one of many items that was consigned to us by legendary Tarzan collector Phil Petras. Mr. Petras was one of the greatest Tarzan fans ever, and he became good friends with several of the actors who played Tarzan, and over many decades, starting in the 1970s, he would meet with actors and actresses who had appeared in Tarzan movies, sometimes on the sets of films, and sometimes at fan gatherings. Prior to his recent passing, he consigned most of his collection to us, and we are currently auctioning many of his autographed items, sometimes from actors who played Tarzan or Jane, and sometimes from actors who appeared in one or more Tarzan movies (but the items we are auctioning may or may not be from their Tarzan films). Mr. Petras naturally did not have "certificates of authenticity", but we feel certain that the autograph on this item, and every other item we are currently auctioning from his collection, is surely authentic! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
