An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) The Black Pirate, the 1926 Albert Parker silent seafaring swashbuckling sailor family relationship murder revenge adventure melodrama (about a young man whose father is killed by pirates, and he seeks revenge by joining the pirates so he can get close to his father's murderers) starring Douglas Fairbanks Sr. (in the title role as The Black Pirate), Billie Dove, Tempe Pigott, Mary Pickford, Anders Randolf, Donald Crisp, and Sam De Grasse. Note that this was one of the first major productions in two-strip Technicolor! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Also note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of the still, and then folded over to the front. This was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby (and of course, the snipe would be folded backwards, so it would not show). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE SNIPE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE FRONT OF THE STILL! Condition: good to very good. The still has changed to a sepia color and it is slightly uneven in the center of the still. Learn More about condition grades
