Date Sold 10/22/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Program (measures 5 1/4" x 7 3/4" [13 x 20 cm]; 24 pages) (Learn More) Buster Keaton ("The Great Stone Face") was an actor from the 1900s to the 1960s. He was (along with Charlie Chaplin) one of the two most famous comedians in silent movies, and he continued to make sound movies as well. He has too many wonderful movies to list, but some of his movies include: The General, Sherlock Jr., The Cameraman, and he made a very memorable final cameo appearance in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. He passed away in 1966 at the age of 70. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: What a wonderful find this is! It is a program for the Trent Theatre, which was a theater from 1903 to 1972. At first, it was a vaudeville theater that was located in Trenton, New Jersey. After it became a movie theater, it was RKO's #2 first run house in Trenton. But back in 1908, when this program is from, it just had vaudeville shows. The program gives information about the many vaudeville acts that were playing the week of September 21, 1908, but none of them are all that interesting. But what is WONDERFUL is that the following week, "The 3 Keatons" were appearing, and so they a half-page ad for that act on one of the pages (see our image). The ad says "The 3 Keatons coming to The Trent Sept. 28. Joe, Myra, and Buster. With jingles thrown in for good measure." Then there is a picture of Buster, and under it, it says "Buster is the cutest bundle of jollity that ever wiggled into the hearts of an audience". We can't imagine virtually any of these programs exist! Also, the person who attended this show on September 22 put their ticket stub inside the program, and that will also be sent to the winning buyer (see our image). Note that we have provided an image of four of the pages of this 24-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and two of the interior pages together). You can see the four of the 24 pages, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are 20 pages you are not seeing. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended).
UPDATED 10/16/2017: Note that our image of the Keaton ad was originally missing from the auction. We have corrected the issue but you may need to reload/refresh the auction page to see the image. Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
