An Original Vintage Unfolded Stage Play Poster (measures 29 1/2" x 41" [75 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

On the Twentieth Century, the 1978 Harold Prince St. James Theatre Broadway stage play production of the screwball comedy operetta musical ("In a new musical comedy"; "Book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green"; "Music by Cy Coleman"; "Based on plays by Ben Hecht, Charles MacArthur and Bruce Millholland") starring Kevin Kline, Imogene Coca, John Cullum, Judy Kaye, and Madeline Kahn. Note that this play was loosely based on the classic movie "Twentieth Century", but that movie had an unusual origin! That classic 1934 Howard Hawks film had been loosely based on the original 1932 play of the same name by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur, and Hecht's and MacArthur's play had itself been loosely based on Charles Bruce Millholland's unproduced play about his experiences working for theater producer David Belasco, called "Napoleon of Broadway". The producers of this play used portions of all three sources to create their play!
