eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 3m0052 HANDS ACROSS THE TABLE insert 1935 Fred MacMurray & sexiest Carole Lombard, ultra rare! Date Sold 2/23/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Hands Across the Table, the 1935 Mitchell Leisen romantic love triangle poor-girl/rich-man comedy ("They tried to run away from love!"; "Taken from the original story 'Bracelets' by Vina Delmar"; about a poor manicurist who wants to find a rich husband, and she gets a job with a rich invalid who doesn't care that she's a gold digger, and she meets a wonderful man, but unfortunately he is broke, so of course, she rejects him, but everything works out in the end) starring Carole Lombard, Fred MacMurray, Astrid Allwyn, Ralph Bellamy, and Ruth Donnelly. Note that we have seen stills from this movie that have Katherine DeMille billed third, but she does not appear to have been in the movie, so likely her part was cut out. The stills that do have the Katherine DeMille credit have it blacked out, so we suspect that surely was the case. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned three window cards and some stills from this movie until we received this insert, which we have never auctioned before! Also note that this poster was folded at one time (see below) but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. The poster was folded across the middle. It also acquired two slightly diagonal creases across the lower part of the image (they run through the stars' hands). There are some smudges around the edges, with a few tears and small pinholes around the edges and a pinhole in the white background area to the right of the Paramount credit. Someone put small pieces of tape on the back of the tears and pinholes. This ultra rare poster can certainly be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or one could choose to have slight restoration performed, but either way, the new owner will have a wonderful poster to display on their wall!
