An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] REPRODUCTION Photo (Learn More)

Slingin' Sammy Baugh (born Samuel Adrian Baugh) was a famous professional football sports player was a Texas college star quarterback at TCU University. In 1937, he signed with the Washington Redskins and became a star there. Interestingly, he played minor league baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals the next year, but he remained with the Redskins. In 1941, he was signed by Republic Pictures to star in "King of the Texas Rangers", where he was billed as "The Football Sensation". The movie was a huge success, and Republic wanted him to make more movies, but Sammy much preferred playing pro football to acting in movies, and he retired, except for a minor appearance in 1948's "Triple Threat", where he played a "Professional Football Player". He played pro football for 16 seasons and retired from playing in 1952 and became a coach all the way until 1968. He passed away in 2008 at the age of 94. He was one of the charter inductees into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION has been personally autographed (signed) by Sammy Baugh! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic.

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a ""lifetime guarantee"" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
