An Original Vintage Sunday News Comics Page (measures 17" x 21 1/2" [43 x 55 cm]) (Learn More) Their Only Child (formerly known as The Newlyweds), the early 1900s newspaper comic strip created by George McManus. If anyone knows more about this comic, please e-mail us and we will post it here. AND Happy Hooligan was a comic strip created by cartoonist Frederick Burr Opper. The strip told the adventures of a well-meaning hobo who encountered a lot of misfortune and bad luck, partly because of his appearance and low position in society, but who did not lose his smile over it. It debuted with a Sunday strip on March 11, 1900 in the William Randolph Hearst newspapers, and was one of the first popular comics with King Features Syndicate. The strip ran for three decades, ending on August 14, 1932. Artist: George McManus/Frederick Burr Opper Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a group of six full color Sunday newspaper comic pages from between 1907 and 1913, which we are currently auctioning in six separate auctions, and of course they are all extremely rare! This comic page measures 17" x 21 1/2", so it will need to be sent in a much larger than normal flat package (it would make no sense to roll it as it would surely damage it). Please bear this in mind before bidding. Also note that the front and back of this page have different comics, so we have pictured both sides, but of course the auction is for a single Sunday comic page. Condition: good. The page is fragile and there are some tears around the edges with small paper loss in the lower left blank border. Learn More about condition grades
