An Original Vintage Stage Play Program Book (measures 8 3/4" x 11 1/2"; 20 pages) (Learn More)

Green Pastures, the 1930 - 1931 Broadway stage play production (of Roark Bradford's book; written by Marc Connelly; about a Negro Heaven; all of the parts were played by black actors, including God, but the play was written and produced by white men, Marc Connelly and Rowland Stebbins) starring Freddie Archibald, Edgar Birks, Alicia Escamilla, Mercedes Gilbert, and Richard B. Harrison. Note that this play was turned into a movie by Warner Bros. in 1936.
Important Added Info: Note that this program book has a lot of really interesting photos and written material about this movie, including biographies of the stars and production people, and it has two pages of endorsements by church leaders, and there is a two-page article about "Unusual Incidents That Occurred During The N.Y. Run"! Note that the program originally sold for 25 cents!
