An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Gracie At the Bat, the 1937 Del Lord woman's softball sports comedy short ("Batting out a laugh a second!"; the title is a parody of "Casey at the Bat"; produced by Charley Chase; about a former major league baseball star who is reduced to being a groundskeeper, until he gets a chance to be the manager of a women's softball team) starring Andy Clyde, Louise Stanley, Leora Thatcher (in the title role as Ma Gracie Clyde), Vernon Dent, Ann Doran, Eddie Fetherston, Bess Flowers, William Irving, and Bud Jamison. Note that if the plot of this comedy short seems very familiar, it is because it strongly parallels that of "A League of Their Own", made decades later!
