An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) And So They Were Married, the 1936 Elliott Nugent romantic marriage comedy ("She's a girl after his own heart!"; about a divorcee and a widower who each have a grown child, and the children want to keep them from having a romance, but when they get snowed in at a hotel together, fate lends a hand) starring Melvyn Douglas, Mary Astor, Edith Fellows, Jackie Moran, Donald Meek, and Dorothy Stickney. Note that Hollywood in the 1930s almost never made romances about "middle aged" people, but this was a rare exception! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned three lobby cards, a pressbook, and a herald (and NO other movie paper) from this movie until we received this one-sheet! Also, note that this poster was one of the posters found in the legendary Royal Theatre Collection, in Canada over 40 years ago. This was the most amazing find of 1930s and 1940s posters ever, because not only were most in remarkable condition (most with paper that was as white as when it was printed), but also because it contained many of the best titles of those years, and there were many thousands of posters and lobby cards in all. Despite these having been sold over 40 years ago, many of these posters have rarely again been offered for sale or at auction. The poster offered here was purchased from the Royal Theatre Collection!
