An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More)

Norma Talmadge was an actress from the 1910s to the 1930s. Her father died when she was just 14, and her mother took in washing, and Norma got a job as a model, and helped take care of her younger sisters, Natalie and Constance. All three of the sisters broke into the movies in the 1910s, and Norma married studio executive Joseph Schenck in 1916, and Natalie married Buster Keaton in 1921, which caused her to quit acting, but Norma and Constance continued and were big stars in the 1920s, but both sisters abruptly quit the movies when talkies began, and the official story was that they wanted to retire "at the top", but it seems more likely that their harsh New York accents did not adapt well to sound movies, so they wisely retired. Norma passed away in 1957 at the age of 63.
Important Added Info: Note that this is an unusual glass slide, in that it is solely an advertisement for Miss Talmadge, and not for one of her specific movies, and it doesn't even have a blank area where a theater could write in the name of the movie they were showing that day! The slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides. We have provided both a high quality scan of the image and also a separate image of how the glass slide looks, but in that digital image, you can really just see the outline of the slide and defects (if any) around the edges.

Condition: fine. The slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides. The slide is in nice condition!
