An Original Vintage Unfolded Czechoslovakian Poster (measures 29 1/4" x 41 3/4" [74 x 106 cm]) (Learn More) an unknown Czechoslovakian poster. This item has little or no English writing on it. We do not know what movie this is for. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has no writing except for "Litografie V. Kotrba, Praha II." at lower right. It shows the resurrected Christ leaving the tomb he was buried in while an angel bows kneels and prays before him. We have no idea if this is from a movie or it was printed for some other reason, or even when it would be from (we are guessing the 1930s but it could be earlier). We were consigned two different Czech posters that are surely from the same production, and we auctioned the first one, ending June 21st, and now we are auctioning the second one in this auction, and then we have no more of these posters (and may well never have another one!) If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 29 1/4" x 42" [74 x 107 cm]. Condition: fair to good. The poster was never folded. It was slightly trimmed along the left blank border. There are small areas of surface paper loss scattered in the right of the poster, with one larger one just to the right of Christ's robe (see our image). There are similar areas of surface paper loss across the bottom 5" of the image, and it would seem likely there were once snipes over all those areas that were somewhat roughly removed, which caused the surface paper loss. Obviously this poster can be restored, but bear in mind the defects listed above (and view our super-sized image before bidding on this poster). Learn More about condition grades
