Date Sold 1/26/2012 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 9 Original Vintage (re-titled "The Hell Bent Kid") Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) From Hell to Texas (also released as "The Hell Bent Kid" and "Man Hunt"), the 1958 Henry Hathaway cowboy western ("There never was a man like the kid they couldn't kill... From the Cimarron to the Rio Grande..."; "The West's most savage man-chase.. FROM HELL TO TEXAS"; "Every gun in the territory was hired to kill..'The Hell Bent Kid'"; "Based on the book by Charles D. Locke") starring Don Murray, Diane Varsi, Chill Wills, Dennis Hopper, and R.G. Armstrong. Note that Hollywood legend has it that this movie was the one that caused Dennis Hopper (at the time a promising young actor) to be "blackballed" in mainstream Hollywood for many years. The story goes that Hopper clashed with director Hathaway over how he delivered a single line, and that hours of shooting (with innumerable takes) were wasted, and that finally Hopper delivered the line the way Hathaway wanted, but after that, he couldn't get a job in mainstream movies. Oddly enough, he returned to mainstream movies in 1965 in The Sons of Katie Elder, directed by Hathaway (who apparently forgave him over those years), but of course, his career really took off with Easy Rider in 1969! THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 9 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE, and NOT just the eight pictured! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best eight stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Note that on our larger lots of black and white stills (usually ones with nine or more in the lot), there are a small number of lots where there may be one or several duplicated stills in the stills not pictured (we only picture eight of the stills on most of the black and white lots). We tried to note when some of the stills not pictured were duplicates to the ones that were pictured, but we may not have caught that every time, so please do not bid on the lots of nine or more stills unless you can accept the possibility that there may be some duplicated stills contained in the lot (there also may be a very few of the lots with eight or less stills that have a duplicate in them, but that is far less likely and you could see them in our photo).
