A Group of 3 1998 Autographed Commercial Posters (made to be sold directly to the public; each measures 16" x 20" [41 x 51 cm]) (Learn More) John Hart was an actor from the 1930s to the 1980s. He is likely best remembered for his starring role as TV's The Lone Ranger from 1950 to 1953. Some of his movies include: Jack Armstrong, The Legend of the Lone Ranger, Adventures of Captain Africa (this was intended to be called "Return of the Phantom", about the legendary cartoon strip character, but the producer discovered at the last minute that they no longer had the rights, so rather than reacquire them, the character became "Captain Africa", and the title was changed!). When Mr. Hart appeared at collectibles shows signing autographs, he would sign printed pictures that read "John Hart as the Phantom" at the bottom, but of course, that was not technically correct! He passed away in 2009 at the age of 91. AND Dick Simmons was an actor from the 1930s to the 1970s. He is probably best remembered for playing TV's "Sergeant Preston of the Yukon" from 1955 to 1958. Some of his movies include: A Star Is Born, Rear Window, and Above & Beyond. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 89. AND Dickie Jones was an actor from the 1930s to the 1960s. He was the son of a Texas newspaper editor, and he was a prodigious horseman from infancy, billed at the age of four as the World's Youngest Trick Rider and Trick Roper. He made many western movies as a child, and in 1940, he gave voice to Pinocchio in the Walt Disney classic! As he entered his teen years, he drifted away from movies, but as a young adult, Gene Autry hired him to play the sidekick to "The Range Rider", and later in his own series, "Buffalo Bill, Jr.", and a few years after that, he retired from show business. He passed away in 2014 at the age of 87. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that these three numbered limited edition commercial posters have each been personally autographed (signed) by one of the following: John Hart (#28/500), Dick Simmons (#123/500), AND Dickie Jones (#134/500)! Note that two of these have certificates of authenticity on the back, and of course, all three have genuine autographs. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good. Two of the three are matted and shrink-wrapped. The Dick Simmons one was bumped in the top right corner, but it only affects the mat, and the other shrink-wrapped one is in nice condition.
