eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 2h0424 CALL OF THE WILD signed LC R1943 by Loretta Young, who's with Clark Gable & Jack Oakie! Date Sold 6/12/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A 1943 Re-Release Theatrical Autographed Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Call of the Wild, the 1935 William A. Wellman Alaska Yukon canine dog adventure gambling romantic melodrama ("Clark Gable portrays his most virile role in Darryl Zanuck's production"; "Based on the story by Jack London", but with a greatly expanded romance that wasn't in the book) starring Clark Gable, Loretta Young, Jack Oakie, Reginald Owen, Frank Conroy, and Buck (the St. Bernard dog!). Note that while making this movie, married Clark Gable had an affair (or was it rape?) with unmarried Loretta Young, and she became pregnant, and because it would have ruined both their careers, she took a year off and returned with an "adopted" baby! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card has been personally autographed (signed) by Loretta Young! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good. There is a 1/2" V-shaped tear near the center of the image, in the background to the left of Gable's hair. There was a 1 1/2" tear at bottom center that was repaired with tape from the back. There is a 1/2" tear in the right of the top border that was also repaired with tape. There is a faint vertical crease in the lower right that extends up into the title area, but it is not very noticeable from the front. Please look at our super-sized images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this card before placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
