Diamond Jim, the 1935 A. Edward Sutherland historical biographical melodrama (about legendary big money spender Diamond Jim Brady; "Mighty adventure thrill show!"; "The inside expose of a master of women!"; "See... The true story of the life, the loves and intrigues of Lillian Russell! See... The million dollar bribe! See... The unbelievable astounding inside revelation of the flashiest gambler in history!"; "From the book by Parker Morell"; written by Preston Sturges) starring Edward Arnold (in the title role; "as Diamond Jim"), Jean Arthur, Binnie Barnes (as Lillian Russell), Cesar Romero, Eric Blore, Hugh O'Connell, and Darby Jones.

Important Added Info: Note that this card has a very unusual element to it! Someone put tiny dots of glue in the letters of the title (and also in the areas of his suit that had "diamonds") and then put silver glitter on the glue and let it dry, creating the illusion that those areas had sparkly diamonds on them! This was commonly done with many title cards in the late 1910s and early 1920s, but the practice was abandoned, because it was so time consuming (each card was decorated in this way by hand!). But it is so nicely done that we strongly suspect that this WAS done by the studio for this title, but we have not seen another example of this title card to compare it to. Whether it was done by the studio or done by a specific theater, it is a really cool addition to this card and not (to my mind) a defect!

Condition: good to very good. The card has glitter in specific areas (see above). It has tiny paper loss in two corners and a 1/2" tear near the center of the top border that has a piece of tape on the back, and surface paper loss and a yellow stain to the right of that in the top blank border. There are some smudges near the center of the card and some around the edges, with a diagonal crease in the bottom left.
