An Original Vintage Promotional Brochure (measures 11" x 19" [28 x 48 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Kaeser & Blair is an American promotional products and advertising company which was founded in 1894 by Dutch Kaesar and Bill Blair. The company creates promotional products for businesses, schools, and groups. They may be best known by collectors for their 1950s calendars and calendar samples which featured images and artwork that ranged from "family friendly" to risque (such as Marilyn Monroe's infamous nude Golden Dreams photo). The nudity on the calendar samples was often covered by a "censor strip" which was not on the actual calendars, and some even featured a clear plastic overlay with artwork that would add "clothing" to the nude models. Important Added Info: What a wonderful promotional brochure this is! If you are a longtime collector, or just like Marilyn Monroe, you likely have seen one or more "Golden Dreams" calendars, and you may know that there are many repros of them that were made in the 1970s or so. There are two kinds of originals from the 1950s. One has the uncensored "Golden Dreams" image from Playboy's first issue, and the other had a celluloid strip or page over the image so that Marilyn appeared somewhat "clothed"! This 1956 promo brochure from the Kaeser & Blair company showed businesses examples of two calendars they could order, with color overlays on each, and of course, one of the two calendars is the Marilyn Golden Dreams calendar! We have pictured it with the overlays as they are and lifted up so that you can see how cool this is. Note that apparently the company did not want to get in trouble, so they put a small strip over both women's breasts that reads "Censored on Samples Only". We have never auctioned this before! Condition: good to very good. There is staining on the front and back covers of the brochure (see our images). There is a tear at the bottom of the front and back covers that does not enter into the sample calendars. The interiors, which have the two calendar samples attached, have some wear at the top where the overlay was taped to the sample (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
