He is best known for his work in TV's "The Riflemen" and "Branded", as well as in many movies including: The Big Country, Soylent Green, Airplane II, Old Yeller, Pat and Mike, and Support Your Local Gunfighter. Remarkably, Connors was BOTH a professional baseball player (for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Chicago Cubs) and a professional basketball player (for the Boston Celtics) prior to his long successful movie career! Connors passed away in 1992 at the age of 71. Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION photo has been personally autographed (signed) by Chuck Connors! Our consignor obtained this autograph in person at a collectibles show that Mr. Connors attended. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the signature is authentic. There is a humorous story about this! The person who obtained this signature wrote a letter explaining that when he was waiting in line at the show, it took forever to get to the front of the line, because Mr. Connors would talk for five minutes to each person asking for an autograph. When the man got to the front of the line, he asked Mr. Connors to sign it "To Alan", and Mr. Connors said "Why? I know you're not Alan, so tell me who Alan is", and he thought Mr. Connors was "a crazy guy"! The letter about how it was obtained will be sent to the winner of this auction. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
