6 Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 7 3/4" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More)

Tin Gods, the 1926 Allan Dwan silent New York City South America politics romantic love triangle family relationship melodrama (a wild story of an engineer who has a wife who wants to enter politics; she neglects their son, and he dies, and the father goes to South America, but becomes a drunk; he meets a beautiful cabaret dancer, and falls in love with her; his wife runs for senator and loses, and goes to South America to try and reconcile with her husband; his girlfriend thinks he wants to reunite, and plans to commit suicide!) starring Thomas Meighan, Renee Adoree, Aileen Pringle, William Powell, and Hale Hamilton. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that this set of stills (and eight other sets we are currently auctioning) have a most unusual provenance. Our consignor's father worked at Paramount Studios between 1925 and 1927, and he was given a number of deluxe stills (and a few regular ones) from then-current films, and he kept them all the years since, and now they have been consigned to us! We have nine sets of these stills in this current set of auctions, and we will have a number of individual stills in our next auction of single stills. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire these extremely rare stills (and other than some of them measuring under 8x10, which likely occurred prior to them being distributed, they are in quite nice condition, especially considering their age). Note that these stills have been slightly trimmed and now measure 7 3/4" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm]. Also note that these are deluxe stills printed on double weight paper stock.

Condition: very good. The stills have been slightly trimmed in the blank borders. We don't know for certain if this was done prior to them being distributed, but we think it likely, because our consignor obtained them directly from the studio (see above). They are otherwise in nice condition, especially considering their age.
