Date Sold 6/19/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Bobby Thompson was a professional sports baseball player from 1946 to 1960, playing for several teams including the New York Giants and the Baltimore Orioles as an outfielder. Thompson is most famous for his walk-off home run off pitcher Ralph Branca, winning the 1951 National League pennant, known as the "Shot Heard 'Round the World"! He passed away in 2010 at the age of 86. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Bobby Thompson! Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! Note that our consignor has been a memorabilia dealer for the past 30 years, and he tells us that he is certain this autograph is authentic. In some cases he obtained the autographs in person, and in other cases (like with contracts and agreements), it is obvious the signatures are authentic, but he vouches for the authenticity of every item that he has consigned to us, and we also feel certain that the autographs are authentic. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
